Pebble Necklace
This chunky statement piece is made up of numerous sculptured beads, created by layering up-cycled waste magazines, and then simply tied together with tan leather. The added element of text on the beads makes this piece a conversational beauty.
This necklace is handcrafted by rural Swazi women using layers of up-cycled magazines which are then coated with a water based varnish to make them durable and water resistant. A member of Swaziland Fair Trade, the creators, Quazi Design, are passionate about promoting social and environmental awareness in design, by creating beautiful objects out of up-cycled paper and employing local artisans under fair trade conditions.
